During this network meeting, we were joined by Dhekelia Matthew-Smith, a Swim England tutor who specialises in neurodiversity.

Dhekelia delivered a session focused on supporting learners with neurodiverse needs, including how to recognise potential signs of neurodiversity and providing practical strategies that swimming teachers can use to support these learners effectively.

Dhekelia then delivered an insightful session on how swimming teachers can support themselves when teaching. She shared her own experiences and discussed a range of coping strategies and approaches that have helped her and her colleagues throughout her teaching career.
