Swim England released four minimum water competency standards to enable parents and guardians of children learning to swim to understand the important skills that children should learn before they are removed from swimming lessons.

In Learn to Swim Stage 7 swimmers develop their ability to swim 100 metres with ease. It’s likely that after treading water, to get to safety they will need to swim to an object or to safety and it’ll be more than 100 metres away.
